LYNCH/OZ: I Don’t Know Where We’re Going

Lynch/Oz is a very film 101 documentary, one which aims to open doors for the performer, lover, and cinema enigma that is Lynch.

Kidman and Kusama work impeccably together in Destroyer to create an anti-heroine who can shoulder the weight of a familiar genre while rarely giving in to easy tropes.

An Interview With THE INVITATION Director Karyn Kusama
“I’ve Always Felt There’s A Madness To Organized Societies” – An Interview With THE INVITATION Director Karyn Kusama

With the DVD/Blu-Ray release of The Invitation, I was able to snag a quick interview with the film’s director, Karyn Kusama. Taking place in a Beverly Hills mansion in L.A over the course of an evening.

The Invitation
THE INVITATION: An Atmospheric And Rewarding Thriller

Two years after his ex-wife disappeared, Will (Logan Marshall-Green) and his new girlfriend Kira (Emayatzy Corinealdi) get an invitation to a dinner party his ex-wife is throwing out of the blue. The couple is hesitant, the invitation is too elaborately fancy, and it all feels slightly off, especially after such a long time of complete silence. On their way to the party, they hit a coyote, which Will kills out of mercy.

The Invitation
THE INVITATION Trailer

Oh, there’s plenty to be afraid of in The Invitation, the upcoming psychological pot-boiler from director Karyn Kusama. Any time paranoia works its way into a film the audience immediately loses its bearing, unsure of which character is lying, which is telling the truth, or if everything they’re seeing is just the fever dream of an ill mind. A blow could come from anywhere, and we humans are hard-wired to fear uncertainty.
