NOAH Trailer

Read our review of Noah here.

Noah recounts the ancient story of Noah’s Ark of the Old Testament. Noah is a man who has visions of an impending apocalypse and prepares to protect his family from the upcoming flood.

When I first saw the trailer a while ago, I didn’t really know what to think. It seems more people are with me on that – some even suggested it’s what the Old Testament would be like if it had been written by Tolkien. The movie looks far less dusty than most Bible-inspired movied, and one could even say it’s disrespectful in the sense that Aronofsky has made a huge spectacle of it; it truly looks like it’s more of a fantasy story instead of a holy text of religion. Of course, Noah has already inspired many heated online wars.

It has to be said though, if the trailer is any indication, it is going to be a spectacle. Aronofsky joined forces again with Matthew Libatique, who was his cinematographer for Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan as well, and we know that this combination has already proven to be magic when it comes to the imagery. The sets too look ridiculously impressive. I’m very curious to see, though, how far Aronofsky has strayed from the original story – are we going to see how they survived on the ship?

I personally can’t wait to see it. Is Noah something you’re interested in seeing, or not? I will be attending the Noah screening here in Perth next week, and you can expect a review of the movie by the end of next week!

What do you think about Aronofsky updating this old Bible story?
