LOWRIDERS Trailer

Avatar photo

Lowriders tells the story of Danny (played by Gabriel Chavarria), a young graffiti artist, torn between the two sides of the law. One side is exemplified by his honest hardworking father Miguel (played by Demián Bichir) who is a hardworking mechanic, and the other side is represented by his older brother Francisco (played by Theo Rossi) who is a criminal. Given the title, it figures that “lowriders” and the culture around these cars, as well as latino culture in general, are a big part of this film.

Watching this trailer I was reminded of American History X, since both films deal with young men in Los Angeles who look up to their older brothers trying to decide which way they’re going to go in life. Considering the names involved with this project, both in front of and behind the camera, Lowriders looks like a film to look out for.

Lowriders is directed by Ricardo de Montreuil and stars Demián Bichir, Gabriel Chavarria, Theo Rossi and Eva Longoria. It will be released in the U.S. on May 12th, 2017 with an as of yet unknown U.K. release date. For international release dates, click here.
