CHRISTOPHER ROBIN Trailer

Winnie the Pooh returns to the big screen in Christopher Robin, but this time his beloved human friend is an adult without much time for playmates.

No, this isn’t Hook, nor is it last year’s Goodbye Christopher Robin, but the film does bear a resemblance to both. The latter was essentially Fox Searchlight trying to cash in on Winnie the Pooh without owning the rights, and Hook was the same premise but for Peter Pan. Neither film was a clear success, making the setup for Christopher Robin seem a bit questionable.

That is, until this winning trailer hit and people’s hearts softened for the cuddly looking animals. While the film is live-action, Pooh and all the others from the Hundred Acre Wood are CGI creations with designs that take both from its animated predecessors with the stuffed animals they were based on. Those uncertain about a live-action Pooh seem to be placated, and anticipation for this big screen adventure is building.

And why not when you’ve got the likes of Ewan McGregor and Hayley Atwell leading the cast along with longtime Pooh voice Jim Cummings. Marc Forster directs, likely landing the job due to his work on similarly fantastical and sweet projects like Finding Neverland and Stranger than Fiction.

Disney, who is producing and distributing the film, seems to have spared no expense for this enchanting tale, and they’ve got many people hoping for another great Pooh story.
