THE COLOR PURPLE Trailer
A musical remake of the treasured book and film is here in The Color Purple.
Based on Alice Walker’s book, the film follows sisters Celie (played by Phylicia Mpasi and Fantasia Barrino) after she is separated from her sister Nettie (Halle Bailey, Ciara) and their struggles in the early 1900s.
After its success as a Tony Award-winning musical, it isn’t surprising that this found its way back to the screen. Despite the original film’s acclaim this newest seems to have enough talent and flair to stand out.
The Color Purple is directed by Blitz Bazawule and stars Fantasia Barrino, Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, Halle Bailey. It will be released in theaters in the US on December 25th. For international release dates, click here.
