DEADPOOL Trailer

Deadpool

Another Marvel anti-hero is brought to the silver screen and this time, it’s Deadpool. When Wade Wilson (former Special Forces Operative and now mercenary) discovers he has a severe type of cancer and does not have a long time left to live, he joins an experiment that will grant him superhero powers. The experiment is successful and he becomes Deadpool. However, his transformation (and escape from cancer) comes at a cost: he now looks like “an avocado had sex with an older avocado”. Not my words. Equipped with his new abilities and a dark sense of humor (and lots of rap music) he starts a hunt for the man who almost destroyed his life. Watch the trailer below:

All of Ryan Reynolds‘ hopes for a career within the superhero track of Hollywood are vested on Deadpool, after his debut as DC’s Green Lantern was a total flop. His character even alludes to as much after only about 35 seconds into the trailer: Wade demands they “please don’t make supersuit green! Or animated!”. Note, though, that Deadpool is not part of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, and that the movie is distributed by 20th Century Fox, who aim for this movie to become part of their X-Men universe- he will be included on future X-Men movies.

Deadpool is directed by debutant Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds stars alongside Morena Baccarin and Gina Carano. It is scheduled to release in United States cinemas 12 February 2016, whereas the U.K. audiences will get to see it a little sooner – on 5 February. Any thoughts on Deadpool or Ryan Reynolds’ career?
