When a massive threat looms, there’s nothing like an experienced specialist to help out. Jason Statham is called upon and shows up to assist Cliff Curtis and team, first underwater and then to a tourist destination. This time around he’s not just battling one, but three massive sharks.
The trailer shows the film lean into the camp and brings the threat to the surface. It’s full of casualties and special effects-driven shots and is bound to be completely bonkers. Here’s hoping it’ll be entertaining too.
The Meg 2: The Trench is directed by Ben Wheatley and stars Jason Statham, Cliff Curtis, Jing Wu, and Sienna Guillory. It will be released in theaters in the US on August 4th, 2023. For international dates click here.
