THE FEAST Trailer

Eat at your own peril in The Feast, the latest from director Lee Haven Jones.

When a wealthy family hire Cadi for a one-night job, they don’t expect her to change their lives. She’s just supposed to help prepare and serve dinner so they can focus on finalizing a business deal with their guests, but when she sees the lavish lives they lead, she gets quietly judgy about their circumstances. Instead of a delicious dinner, she serves up some horrifying and bloody lessons, ones they may not all survive.

This promises to be a slow burn before unleashing hell, which will be a challenge for Jones to pace correctly. He hasn’t honed his skill by doing a lot of horrors (he’s worked extensively in television and has only one feature, a documentary, under his belt), but perhaps that eclectic background will help him shift between the different gears of this movie.

The film, which is in Welsh, gives its actors a chance to dig into a language they don’t often get to speak on film. Leading the way is Annes Elwy as the dangerous Cadi, while the dinner guests include Nia Roberts, Julian Lewis Jones, and Steffan Cennydd.

With strong reviews from its festival run, this looks like one that will appeal to those with a strong stomach.

The Feast is directed by Lee Haven Jones and stars Annes Elwy, Nia Roberts, Julian Lewis Jones, and Steffan Cennydd. It will be released in the US on November 19th, 2021. Further release dates are not currently known.
